AR 2 - Intermediate AR/Carbine

Have you ever wanted to shoot your carbine like the Pros? This class is the next step to becoming the AR-style operator you always wanted to be!

This course is designed for students looking to better their accuracy by perfecting the body mechanics of shooting and manipulating the AR platform in a dynamic setting. It will involve a brief classroom session with a more extensive live fire session to follow.

PREREQUISITES

Must have completed Basic Intro to ARs or equivalent training with a signed certificate.

o   The Trainee has shot at least 500 rounds in the past 12 months.

o   The shooter has self demonstrated the ability to shoot approximately 45/50 rounds into an 8” group @ 10 yards from the unsupported standing position. If you cannot do this yet then it is advised to schedule a Private Instruction with one of our Firearms Instructors.

LIVE FIRE PRACTICAL EXERCISE

  • Shooting for accuracy

  • Shooting and reloading while in motion

  • Contacting drills from various firing positions

  • Malfunction drills

  • Engagement in various types of defensive situations

  • Environmental factors including low light / no light

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

  • AR-15 Style Rifle (.308 calibers & below) Must be in a case to enter the facility. Rentals are available, but limited, so please call in advance if you plan to rent.

  • Ideally, this rifle is one that the trainee has experience with and is a good fit for the individual.

  • Short barrel rifles MUST be suppressed to cut down on noise to hear Instructor commands. Rental suppressors are available by request in advance. Call if you have questions about this.

  • Slings are required. Slings must be able to hold the Rifle at no more than a 12” circle from the trainee's feet.

  • 125 rounds of ammunition (please bring some, if not some will be available for purchase.)

  • 3 Magazines minimum

  • weapon mounted light

  • Mag carrier or some way to retain those magazines.

  • Sturdy belt if using a mag carrier

  • Eye & Ear protection

  • Close-toed shoes

  • An empty cup, and ready to learn

 

CLASS COST:  $185 PER STUDENT

NO refunds are issued but full credits will remain on account for future use with no expiration date.
